In my junior year I remember the times that Yolanda Cross read her poetry during assembly. She was an inspiration to all, whether one knew her personally or not. The stars shone in the darkness, regardless of race or economic status. Talent was appreciated, humanity respected , individuality accepted. Her last reading left me with a sad strange impression.
She had ended with" I woke to look in yellow surprise apon a skull".This may not be verbatim but as I remember it
leaving me with an impression of a person too ethereal not long for this earth.
Our experience in A&D was way ahead of time. Love and appreciation for diversity and brotherhood permiated all.
In face of all that is wrong in the world then and now, love was then and will always be, the answer.
God loves you, and so do I.
    Peace,
    Rose

This was my sister. I was only 6 when she passed. Till this day, all this years later. I think of her often. And I wonder.,how different my life would have been had she lived.

    Forever I love her!!!
